GBI Crime Laboratory: Coming to Pooler

GBI Crime Laboratory: Coming to Pooler

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the new 66,000 square-foot Coastal Crime Laboratory in Pooler, GA on June 26, 2017. The ceremony included comments from Governor Nathan Deal, Pooler Mayor Mike Lamb, and GBI Director Vernon Keenan.  The building will be located on the northwest corner of Isaac LaRoche Drive and Pooler Parkway on a 4.9-acre tract gifted by the City of Pooler.  The $34 million project provides expansion capabilities for more resources, providing better service to the lab’s customers that include improving the turnaround time for forensic services.

GBI’s Staff Services section has been partnering with JMA Architecture and general contractor DPR Construction to complete the project that is expected to take approximately 18 months. EMC Engineering Services, Inc. is proud to have worked with JMA and GBI to provide surveying civil engineering, and construction phase services for the project.
