The Fort Howard Road Utility Extension project consisted of the extension of the water main, the gravity sanitary sewer lines and a sewer forcemain along Fort Howard Road to serve the new Rincon Elementary school, residents and future developments down Fort Howard Road to Old Augusta Road. The project includes the following:
- 5,800 LF of 10″ PVC water main with fire hydrants and valves
- 2,300 LF of 8″ PVC gravity sewer
- 3,300 LF of 10″ PVC gravity sewer
- 4,100 LF of 8″ PVC forcemain
- 2,500 LF of 1″ service laterals
This project also included an 8-foot-diameter pump station designed to handle a volume of 279,300 gallons per day. With the construction of this project, the City of Rincon will be better equipped to handle any future development along Fort Howard Road to Old Augusta Road.
EMC Engineering Services, Inc. has worked with the City of Rincon and the Effingham County Board of Education in the planning, design and construction phases of this project. Specific services provided by EMC included:
- Preparation of Topographic and Boundary Surveys of the project corridor
- Easement plat and pump station plat
- Preparation of construction plans that included utility plan and profiles, erosion and sedimentation BMPs, and construction details
- Permitting of project through Ga EPD and NRCS
- Assistance during the Bidding of the project
- Provided construction administration and inspection services
- Provided stormwater NPDES monitoring
- Construction staking
- Provided project closeout documentation
