Description: Fort Gordon, established in 1941 as a World War II training camp, covers approximately 56,000 acres of land southwest of Augusta, Georgia. Originally known as Camp Gordon, it was named for native Georgian, LTG John Brown Gordon. Becoming a permanent Army installation in 1956 and re-designated as Fort Gordon, it is home to Cyber Command, as well as housing the U.S. Signal Corps, which is responsible for providing and maintaining information systems and communication networks. This Fort Gordon project involved EMC Survey field crew performing topography and as-built of project area to produce drawings needed for the project and road improvements.
